Expanding a grandMA3 lighting control system is straightforward with the MA Lighting grandMA3 Processing Unit M. It adds 4,096 parameters (HTP/LTP) to increase system capacity in manageable steps, while its powerful CPU supports frame-synchronous calculation for consistent timing across the session. The unit also includes a Mode2 option to expand existing grandMA2 systems by 4,096 parameters (HTP/LTP), making it a practical choice for venues and tours transitioning between platforms.

System Expansion and Workflow

The grandMA3 processing units are designed for 2RU rack mounting, helping keep touring and installed racks compact and organized. An integrated touchscreen provides at-a-glance system overview and quick access to important functions for maintenance when installed in a dedicated rack, while every function can still be monitored from the grandMA3 session.

DMX Output and Network Integration

Each model is equipped with 8 frame-synchronous DMX512-A outputs for reliable DMX output throughout the network. For larger systems, it is suggested to keep processing units centralized for parameter expansion and use grandMA3 xPort Nodes to distribute and output additional frame-synchronous DMX data where it is needed on stage or across a facility.
