The Martin MAC Viper Profile is a high-output moving head profile luminaire built for concerts, touring rigs, theaters, and installed venues that need strong punch, clean optics, and fast, repeatable positioning. It outperforms all market-leading profiles in the 1200-watt range and is even an alternative to 1500-watt fixtures. With its 1000-watt HID source, the Viper consumes less power, making it over 50% more efficient than its 1200-watt rivals.
Optics and Output
Delivering 26,000 lumens at a 6000K color temperature, the MAC Viper Profile is designed for excellent light quality with a very flat, uniform field. A large 140 mm front lens helps create the wider, “fat beam” look that reads well through haze, while the fast 1:5 zoom with auto-linked focus makes it easy to move from tight specials to broader coverage without slowing down programming.
Gobos, FX, and Beam Shaping
For mid-air texture and projection work, two 5-slot rotating gobo wheels (all glass gobos with optimal focal separation) support cleaner morphing effects. A patent-pending FX wheel adds four fixed gobos plus a 135° animation effect for motion and breakup. Beam control is rounded out with a fast, tight iris with adjustable dynamic effects, a soft frost that keeps gobo artwork visible while smoothing edges (with a linear focus blurring option), and a 4-facet prism with rotation and index for beam separation and accurate tiling.
Color and CCT Control
CMY color mixing provides a broad palette including true reds, rich ambers, primary green, and deep blues, supported by an 8-slot color wheel with static colors and correction filters for quick bumps and additional choices. Linear CTO lets you move from daylight to tungsten looks, while also expanding the usable CMY palette when matching other fixtures in a rig.
Dimmer, Shutter, and Strobe Effects
A combined dimmer/shutter system delivers intensity effects, instant blackout/open, and smooth fades. Strobe effects are available via mechanical or electronic control, or by combining both for more varied looks.
